  • Drop off and Pick Up Safety Rules

    • The earliest your child should arrive to class is 15 minutes.
    • Your child must be signed out by an adult at the end of class.
    • If a child is not signed out and is not in the building, we are required to make contact with the childs parent to ensure they are safe and in parents custody.
    • If we are unable to contact parents to verify that their child is safe, we will contact the Washoe County Sheriff's Department.
    • If your child is not picked up within 15 minutes from the end of class, please expect a phone call to determine what caused the delay.
    • If your child has not been picked up within 30 minutes and you have not contacted the teacher or DRE, the Religious Education Department is required to follow specific guidelines to contact the Washoe County Sheriff's Department.

  • Religious Education

    1. Religious education is for children in kindergarten through sixth grade who attend public or private school (not to include Catholic school).
    2. Parents are their child's first teachers and are responsible for their Catholic upbringing.
    3. Included in this is the child's continuous faith formation and reception of Sacraments. Religious Education is only a supplement to what parents already do.

Sacramental Preparation requires two years of formation.

    First Year—Basic faith formation.

Second Year—Reconciliation (confession) and Eucharist (First Communion).
Children learn the Act of Contrition and will be evaluated for readiness to receive the Sacraments. Child/Parent attend the Reconciliation Retreat and Eucharist Retreat.

If your child is NOT BAPTIZED you will receive instructions following the successful completion of their first year. Baptism typically takes place in the summer/fall months.

St. Rose of Lima has ongoing faith formation for all grade levels for those who wish to continue their spiritual journey with Christ.
